Residential sales in Quebec decrease in June

In total, 9,107 residential sales transactions were concluded in June in Quebec, a 16 per cent decrease compared to June of last year.

According to data compiled by the Quebec Professional Association of Real Estate Brokers (QPAREB), 9,107 residential sales transactions were recorded in the province of Quebec in June 2021, a 16 per cent drop compared to June of last year. Active listings fell by 33 per cent and new listing dropped by 13 per cent compared to June of last year.

In terms of median price, the largest increase was for single-family homes at 32 per cent, followed closely by condominiums at 25 per cent and plexes at 22 per cent.

Here are the June 2021 median prices for a single-family home in the province’s six CMAs along with the variation as compared to June of last year.

  • Montreal: $508,000 (+29 per cent)
  • Gatineau: $400,000 (+25 per cent)
  • Quebec City: $310,000 (+14 per cent)
  • Sherbrooke: $330,000 (+32 per cent)
  • Saguenay: $224,000 (+6 per cent)
  • Trois-Rivières: $232,000 (+37 per cent)
